Principal's Message

Dear Sunnyside families,

We’re getting really close to welcoming back students and you can feel the excitement from the Sunnyside School staff.  We have missed you!  I hope your family is feeling the same.

I want to take a moment to reflect before the school year begins because this is such an interesting time in our history.  A year ago, I couldn’t have imagined what 2020 would be like and how much it would change for all of us.

I am so honored to be your principal.  What a privilege this is to lead our school through a pandemic, to be entrusted with all the responsibilities, challenges and opportunities.  I am so grateful for your support, your encouragement and patience.  There has been a lot of information and there will continue to be as COVID-19 evolves.  I appreciate the time you are taking to read through the information.  Your understanding of the guidelines will help us facilitate the best learning experience for our students.

I am committed to providing the best possible learning environment that nurtures the social emotional needs of each child.  We will continue to offer fantastic learning experiences and recess will continue to be a place where students can play and make choices suitable for their own needs.

Not only will we get through these next few months, we will thrive.
